The best sources for cases are comprehensive online services, such as pkulaw.cn and Westlaw China, which can be searched using keywords and other known relevant information about court decisions.

Cases or digests of cases may also be found in current periodicals, both Chinese and English, or in legal newspapers such as 法制日报. Also, publications with the characters 案例选 in the title, often compile cases of historical or popular interest or deal with a particular field of law. These are, however, by no means comprehensive, and it is very difficult to approach these publications seeking to find a given case.

In general, cases are much harder to locate than laws. This is especially true if you are looking for an English translation of a case, although online services noted above included English translations of some cases.

Cases are not cited or indexed in a format that is familiar to U.S.trained attorneys.
