Law Library Student Services

Information for UW Law students about the services we offer.

What is the Student Law Library Advisory Board?

The Gallagher Law Library has established a committee called the Student Law Library Advisory Board (SLLAB) so that we can hear from you, the students, about how well the library is meeting your needs. The Student Law Library Advisory Board (SLLAB) will be a forum for law students to give the library direct feedback about library services and resources. All SLLAB student members will receive complimentary lunch. SLLAB meetings are open to all law students who would like to come, all meetings will be held in the library once a quarter during the law school lunch hour.

Goals of SLLAB

The objectives for forming the Student Law Library Advisory Board are to...

  • Increase direct dialogue across the law school student body
  • Create a platform for students to discuss how the library can continue to support their needs
  • Foster connection across UW Law student body and Gallagher Library

Why Join?

Joining the board offers opportunities to...

  • Cultivate connection with the library and other student organizations
  • Gain knowledge about library resources and services
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Be a voice for your community

Membership Requirements

The requirements for joining are simple. We are looking for a small group of representatives who:

  • Are current UW Law students in any law program (J.D., LL.M., M.J., & Ph.D.)
  • Can commit to attending one meeting per quarter during the lunch hour (12:30-1:20).
  • Our next meeting will be held Spring 2023. The location is the RSO Commons on the second floor of the library.

If you are interested in joining the board, please take a few moments to complete the SLLAB Application form.

SLLAB is currently not seeking new members, however, all SLLAB meetings are open for any law student to join and share their thoughts on the library, and no formal commitment is necessary.
